Puttin' on the Roof

The roof has been attached!  We had to bend up this front piece...that was VERY hard work, but it looks awesome.

Hole in the roof for the vent.

Kitchen

Here is the roughed in kitchen area.  Eventually there will be a door that lifts up that covers this part.

Things are starting to take shape!

We cut out the shape of the sides and attached them to the base.

Its starting to look like a camper!

Coming Right Along...

Here we have added the base to the trailer.  We primed and painted the bottom with marine grade paint, so hopefully that will waterproof it a little bit.

Here you can see the base with the insulation put in.

Here we have added the floor - we glued and nailed it.  Here we are waiting for the glue to dry.

The plywood that we used was only 8 feet long, but the side of the camper is about 10 feet long, so we had to glue on a bit extra using biscuit joints to add stability.

Cutting out the sides!

Our teardrop:  some assembly required.

We got our trailer all together, the lights working and the license plate on.  Then we built some railings and went and got the wood for the actual camper part.   Next step building and waterproofing the floor.

The Beginning of the Camper

JT and I are going to build ourselves a tear drop trailer for camping.  On Saturday, we got the trailer part.  We thought we would be getting an already assembled trailer.  Haha, not so much.  It came in two VERY HEAVY boxes:

Right now we are working on putting the trailer together.  So far, so good!
